JADE

Jade is a green precious stone from which jewellery and small decorative items are made. We named the home JADE as the design influence for this home is from the cultured heritage of our client. There is also a connection to our client’s name, as one of the Chinese characters is “Yen” which signifies “Jade”, her favourite colour also happens to be green!

CLIENT BRIEF

Jade is a zen home to a newly wed couple, the vibe of this home is peace and tranquility. This wabi-sabi inspired home whispers of cultural influence and timeless beauty, there is a pastel green and warm wood colour tone that runs through the home, providing the softness that is alluring.

The interior is furnished with minimal, warm wood furnishings, embodying the concept of ‘wu-wei’ or effortless simplicity. Along the walls, a personal calligraphy scroll, adorned with elegant characters that speak of wisdom, hangs with quiet grace upon the wall. An abstract painting that speaks volumes through its simplicity and raw, tactile beauty hangs above the dining table.

Where the ancient art of Japanese design meets contemporary study functionality, this shoji design inspired study room was designed to connect both the living room and study room, with panels that resembles the Japanese shoji room divider. The decor speaks of a deep appreciation for nature’s subtle nuances and the passage of time. In every shelf, a pottery collection whether a humble tea bowl or an intricate vase, curated over years of admiration for the craft finds its place.

The curvature being used in the bedroom gives a unique and distinct look to this home, it almost feels like a capsule bedroom. The walls, painted in a delicate shade of nude pink, exudes a soothing ambiance that bathes the room in a soft and intimate glow. The color evokes a sense of tranquility, enveloping the space in a cocoon of serenity that invites relaxation and repose.

Here, amidst the curated chaos of life, one finds solace in the simplicity of existence - a reminder that true beauty lies not in perfection, but in the raw, unfiltered essence of the world around us. It is a home that breathes with its subtle elegance and understated charm, a sanctuary where one can find peace in the embrace of impermanence.

A home to accommodate personal cultured painting and collection, convert the third bedroom to a study room and incorporate the color green.
